Drink 'n Draw

Well, I still have a thriving readership in Russia.

Sometimes (as in right now) I think about transforming The Boydleian into a personal style blog. I would occasionally post pictures of myself and also fashionable people I meet in the subway and the library, because those are the places where The Sartorialist never steps foot.

Sometimes I wish I had a decent camera so I could take meaningful (or not) pictures. New York is certainly photographically inspiring.

I started going to this thing at Brooklyn's 3rd Wardhttp://www.3rdward.com/ called Drink 'n Draw, but because of the demands of life, I've only made it twice. It's exactly what it sounds like - you pay 10 bucks for beer and a model, and you sit in a big circle while a naked person poses in sometimes rather astounding positions, and you are inspired. They play good music, and it's in a big converted warehouse. It's amazing.

Because I am feeling brave tonight, I will post a drawing with which I am particularly pleased.

I like the idea.

p.s. I've thought of transforming my blog into a food blog where I can show off culinary creations and talk about school. also, My thriving audience might be in the Philippines.

Next time I come to NYC, I want to do this Drink N'Draw thing...even though I SUCK. Maybe I'll do an abstract.

Your drawing is beautiful and impressive. I thought it was from a museum when i first saw it...and then I read that you drew it whilst drinking. Amazing. You should illustrate your own personal illuminated manuscript.

Man, that's incredible! I'm so proud that I know an artist! And I don't use that word lightly.

Thank you Wazzy and Hillary. You are both very kind in regard to my not-David-naked-male portrait. Hillary, the friend with whom I have gone to Drink 'n Draw can't really draw at all - it's pretty common. You wouldn't be shunned.

Forrest, I've always felt that you should. Also, I'm pretty sure you don't need to fabricate a pretend thriving audience off of like 7 Russian visitors, like I have. You already have like 70 confirmed!

I also think your drawing is fantastic.

Your comment 'not-David-naked-male portrait' is also very funny. Though I have heard that he has done some modeling in the past.

@Dave M: Haha. Hoooo.

Did I really say that I wanted to transform this blog into a personal style blog? That is the last thing I would want to do in life, ever. Gross.
